DotEmu Releases Ys Chronicles 1 for Smartphones
DotEmu has released Ys Chronicles 1 for Android and iOS. Ys Chronicles is an old RPG dated back from 1987, and was originally released under the title Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished for NEC PC-8801, which I bet you've never heard of! Ys has been released for several old systems, such as the X1turbo, MSX2, FM-7/77, and other systems you've never heard of. It's also been rereleased on the Nintendo DS, Playstation 2, and Playstation Portable, among other consoles. A major piece of Japanese RPG history, Ys is an action RPG originally developed by Nihon Falcom. The story takes place in a fantasy setting, following the protagonist Adol Christin who adventures around the regions of Esteria, Ys, Celceta, Felghana, Xandria, Canaan Islands, and Altago. Despite its origin on a peculiar computer system and old roots, the Ys series is the second largest Asian RPG franchise, behind Final Fantasy only. The game is now available on Android and iOS smartphones for $5.
