SCULPTING
The sculpting of this figure is pretty much show-accurate. It's also very detailed for its value- for example, the frills and creases in Madoka's clothes look marvelous! If you turn her around you see a heart on her back which I never even noticed in the anime. If you turn her upside-down, you see tons of frills blocking your panty shot! That's not just for censorship; that's how Madoka's outfit is really supposed to look, and if you ask me, I think it's adorable. The only problem I have with the sculpting is that her legs look kinda wonky in their positions.
PAINTING
The painting job on Madoka's hair is gorgeous! Of course, hair is usually the most detailed part when it comes to painting, but this is a Banpresto game prize with hair comparable to Good Smile Company! It's very good value. I've seen some derpy-faced Madoka figures, but this one looks great. It's true to the original art style and it looks good. The pink on the top part of Madoka's dress has nice shading, but the rest of her clothes have only solid shading. I don't think this is very noticeable until you actually look for these things, though, mostly because of the amazing sculpting. Most of the paint has clearly been added carefully, so the paint does not often seep into the wrong colour. However, it does do that for the gem on Madoka's chest, giving it an unfortunate appearance as though the gem has sunk into her skin... If you look at the stand, it is very large and has a beautiful and intricate design in it, along with Madoka's name.
PRICE
This figure was originally a game prize in Japan, so ¥160 was the price of each play. It probably took multiple tries to win the figure, so ¥160 is kind of inaccurate, but it is the cheapest possible price of the figure originally. Nowadays, the unopened figure costs around $10-$20 second hand, which is still pretty cheap considering its size and how nice it looks!
OPINIONS & COMMENTS
I got this figure for a good price; around $15 Canadian, and I'd say it was definitely worth it. Sure, this figure could be so much better... Just take a look at Good Smile Company's Madoka! She's in almost the same pose, but looks way better. But seriously, for the amount that this figure costs, you'd expect something much worse than what you're getting. Some people pay this much money for tiny, super-deformed gashapon figures after all. You don't need this figure if you have enough money to go with Good Smile, but if you want a more affordable collection that doesn't look too shabby, I highly recommend this. You can get the other magical girls from the franchise to go along with Madoka, and it'll cost way less.
