Sleepy Impressions: My Love Story!!
This was so incredibly cute, I could just explode from how adorable it was. I'm not usually a huge fan of shoujo romance, but this one is exceptionally pleasant. We follow a guy named Takeo Gouda, rather than the main girl, Rinko Yamato. Takeo is a big guy, and people are intimidated by him, until they get to know his personality as a gentle giant.
Even so, being a gentle giant doesn't get him anywhere in terms of love. His childhood friend Makoto Sunakawa has always had girls confess their love to him, yet girls have never expressed any interest in Takeo.
That is, not until Takeo spots a molestor on a train and puts an end to him. The girl he rescues, Rinko Yamato, is very grateful to Takeo, and visits him at his house with a cheesecake as a thank you gift. She accidentally leaves her phone, and well, one thing leads to another, until Takeo and Rinko start seeing each other quite often. Takeo finds that he is completely smitten with Rinko, and Rinko seems to be in love as well. However, due to his history with Makoto, he assumes that he is the guy she is in love with.
Even so, Takeo is happy to be with Rinko, even if Makoto is around. What makes this show so cute is how you can watch Takeo find a cute girl to love, and receive love in turn despite his intimidating appearance. It's really sweet, and goes to show that even big guys can find love. Also, Takeo's personality in general is sweet, which is something you generally wouldn't expect from an anime character of his stature. It just goes to show that you can't judge a book by its cover.
The artwork is nice, the story is sweet, the characters are adorable. What's not to like? I only wouldn't recommend this to someone who doesn't care for romance. Other than that, my first impression is a must-watch. I'm expecting great things from this show!
